Hey, anyone want to start a NFL fantasy league, i’m in one with a buddy and it’s pretty funny. We could do a small time league amongst us.

i’d be down with one. no pressure though. i tend to get busy around the middle of the year. besides, all i have to do is pick up john beck and i’ll destroy you all.
that’s a joke.
anyone catch the TU game. a nice warm up for byu.

Pretty much every college game I have seen so far has been a blow out. Hopefuly we get some better ones soon.
I have never done a fantasy league and have no idea. But as popular as they are, they must be fun… right? I’ld be down.

Ok, i sent everyone an invite to join the league, let me know if you didn’t get the email. Also, if you want anyone else to join let me know, just shoot me an email at tuffycummings@gmail.com it is good to have 10-12 members and all of us do it that is only 5. Spence might bring in his family.
OK, this isn’t tough but here is the skinny, the live draft is set for tomorrow at 3:15 ET. You have like one minute to make your pick. DOn’t get scarred this doesn’t require much time, i thought it would and it can or it can’t. If you can’t make the live draft, just rank your players. Spend 10 min looking at what the experts say to pick and then just rank your players and if you aren’t at the draft then the computer will pick for you according to how you ranked the players, easy cheesy, then if you want, you don’t have to do anything the rest of the year. If you have any ?s let me know.

ok, everyone should’ve received an email about the fantasy league, let me know if you haven’t. Once again the live draft will start at 3:15 ET tomorrow, if you can’t make it you can pre-rank players, see info below.
Live Draft Instructions
After you join or create a Live Draft league, you will have the opportunity to make changes to CBSSports.com’s default Rank List, which is a list of all NFL players that are eligible to be drafted, ranked from best to worst by our Fantasy experts.
It is recommended that you, prior to your draft, organize the Rank List according to your own player preferences. However, you are welcome to leave the Rank List in the order our experts have provided. During the live draft CBSSports.com will use your Rank List as a backup in case your time limit expires before you make a pick (explained below). If you decide to make changes to your Rank List, you will have until approximately 24 hours prior to your draft time to do so. At that time, the Rank list will be closed and considered ready for the draft.
On draft day there will be a “Draft Room” link at the top of your League Home page. The link is also available in the Draft Prep column located to the left side of the screen. This link will allow entry into the draft room. During the Live Draft, each team will have 90 seconds to select an NFL player. The order of the draft will be randomly generated between midnight and 6:00 AM ET either the day of, or the day before the draft. If your league does not have 12 team owners on the morning of the draft, your league will be disbanded and each owner will have to join or create another league.
In the draft room, you will be able to place NFL players into a Draft Queue - which is simply a list of players, in order of priority, that you are interested in taking with your next draft pick. When it is your turn to pick, you will have 90 seconds to draft a player. If the 90 seconds pass and you have not manually selected a player, the player ranked highest in your Draft Queue will be automatically drafted. If the Draft Queue is empty, a pick will then be made from your Rank List. The draft order will “snake” at the end of each round, meaning that the team with the last pick in the current round will have the first pick in the next round.
You’ll find more help with the live draft inside the league after signup.

Alright, i’m in and i am doing tons of research because there is no way i’m coming in last.
i’ve always wanted to join a league. this should be fun.
any tips, oh wise ones?
did anyone else think you had to give out a ton of info to register? man, why do they need to know my phone number and if i’m a dude or chick?
Comment by The Scam — September 5, 2007 @ 12:25 pm
lol, don’t worry scam, the cbs sportsline is really good, been with them a while and i’ve never had any junk email or anything. I know as much about fantasy as i do about rubber chickens so not much help here, its probably wise not to go with trent green or john beck though! LOL, you don’t want to get suckered into trying to draft your fav team players
Comment by jtuffy — September 5, 2007 @ 12:28 pm
what if i take michael vick? i’ll be unstoppable.
Comment by The Scam — September 5, 2007 @ 2:00 pm
LOL, we know you live in a bubble but it can’t be that bad? He has to be a model for your law case discussions.
Comment by jtuffy — September 5, 2007 @ 2:03 pm
please, that’s why it would be so awesome. just kidding.
do we need to put some friendly wagers down on some of these games? i think it might make things a little more interesting. nothing drastic - maybe a video tape of the loser streaking sacrament meeting or something like that.
Comment by The Scam — September 5, 2007 @ 4:02 pm
Why don’t you give me a little info on how this whole fantasy thing works. Is it like a video game where the computer does all the playing and you are just watching? I’m sure you don’t actually watch, so does it just send you an email of how your team did? Bears win! Jefferson injured and out for the season! Is that about it?
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 6, 2007 @ 11:11 am
Doms you can check out the rules section on the website, it is basically a numbers game. Say they give you 1 point for every 20 yards your QB throws. You have a QB that throws for 300 yards = 15 points. Everyweek, your team of drafted players is matched up against another team. Whoever has the most points wins. Pretty simple. You get to pick your players and can trade players or choose not to play certain ones given the week. Say for instance, your QB gets hurt, then you want to sub in your substitute. Easy cheesy.
Comment by jtuffy — September 6, 2007 @ 11:26 am
Yes I can look at the rules myself, but that’s too easy. I still don’t understand. I get everything you just wrote EXCEPT the part about the actual performance of the players/team. Does the performance of my QB depend on some randomization of a computer or what? Get my question?
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 6, 2007 @ 6:54 pm
no, the performance depends on the performance of the player.
HELLO peeps, i see that alot of you monkeys haven’t signed up yet, don’t be scaaaarrrred! LOL
Comment by jtuffy — September 7, 2007 @ 11:37 am
DOMS, its based on what the players actually do in real life. so on sunday, when the players actually play, in the fantasy world you go off of their stats.
hey, i ran into your mom and she said you got a job. were you trying hide your accomplishments from us? we need the dish.
Comment by The Scam — September 7, 2007 @ 10:09 pm
Doms got a job? Did she say what he was doing?
Comment by Seth — September 8, 2007 @ 2:20 pm
He is a male prostitute, or maybe a she-male one! LOL
Comment by jtuffy — September 9, 2007 @ 11:47 am
I’ll DOMS give the details. He must be shy about it.
Dude, i finally beat that stupid boss. it took me like two seconds when i actually quit bothering with all the pansy goons and just went for the boss. vantage point is key.
tuffy, it looks like your sooners are legit. i might have to jump on the band wagon. their quarterback is ridiculous.
too bad byu couldn’t hang on against ucla. it would have been interesting. now we are just gearing up for the big byu/tu matchup. its gonna be a shocker.
Comment by The Scam — September 10, 2007 @ 11:37 am
Well sorry I’ve been so shy lately. Yes, I do have a job! I’m a TA for anatomy and physiology. It’s great. Free tuition (that’s no small fee, being an out-of-state graduate student), plus a hefty stipend. I’m a full TA, so that means I spend about 12 hours a week just in class alone. Then I must do all the work necessary for the class (preparation since I lead the classes, quizzes, grading, etc.). Great job. Really demanding of my time since I still have to do everything else in my program.
Well I hope I entered the league and ranked my players sufficiently. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow.
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 10, 2007 @ 10:05 pm
let the games begin. i’m all up on this draft.
i think DOMS is trying to hustle us. acting like he doesn’t know what’s going on. leaving his draft up to the computer. we’ll see, boys.
Comment by The Scam — September 11, 2007 @ 12:15 pm

Comment by The Scam — September 11, 2007 @ 2:17 pm

Comment by jtuffy — September 11, 2007 @ 2:44 pm

if i drop cutler for peterson. just kidding. let me think about it.
Comment by The Scam — September 11, 2007 @ 3:31 pm
What are you serious, do you know who Cedric Benson is? He is a started whereas your Jay Cutler is a backup, reserve
Comment by jtuffy — September 11, 2007 @ 3:33 pm
cutler is no back up. he tore it up on sunday. he took over jake plummer’s spot for denver.
back up indeed.
Comment by The Scam — September 11, 2007 @ 5:14 pm
You do realize you can only start one of your qbs, so are you going to start cutler over peyton!
