Wow… Spence sounds a little fried! I’m excited for the games to begin. At what point do we have to get our roster set? Just before any of the games start? The projection says Jenny is gonna beat me… I might have to hide out next week.
Comment by Seth — September 14, 2007 @ 12:33 pm
LOL, that would be hilarious if the Super Stars whopped ya! I believe you have to have your roster set 1 hour before the first game starts
Comment by jtuffy — September 14, 2007 @ 12:36 pm
I never watch Pro-ball… when do the games start? lol Do they do a college fantasy league? I don’t know if you really could… the rosters change so much. But it could be pretty fun if you just had a larger roster to work with. Draft say, 25 people that you can then sub in and out.
Comment by Seth — September 14, 2007 @ 12:46 pm
I usually only watch the cowboys, but it is fun just having the computer up and watching the live scores and seeing the points your dudes are scoring and then watchign your opponent to see what they are doing.
They do have a college fantasy league, that is probably super crazy! The games usually start at 1 pm ET, so 11 your time
Comment by jtuffy — September 14, 2007 @ 12:49 pm
Ok… today is alot more quit than I expected. I thought everyone would be on here goin crazy… and talkin’ trash. I’m kinda disapointed. Hope there is some trash talk tomarow! Don’t let me down.
Comment by Seth — September 16, 2007 @ 10:23 pm
LOL, man, what a disaster for fantasy for me, Those monkey on the Panthers defense just killed me and Doms lets the computer get a win for him! LOL
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 8:06 am
That’s some quality trash talkin’… gg Jonny. You think Jenny can get 60 more points with her game tonight? And, it looks like Carson Palmer raked in more points than any other player people had starting… it’s really too bad the bengals still lost!
Comment by Seth — September 17, 2007 @ 11:21 am
Yeah, don’t expect palmer to even have half that kind of production on average! That was just a crazy game.
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 11:29 am
dude, chad johnson had the game of his life. i love this stuff. does justin even get on this blog? i need to rub something in his face.
did anyone catch the TU game? man, what a show! talk about an offensive show. i was standing in the byu section cheering my head off for tu. kressyda kept elbowing me in the ribs and telling me i was being obnoxious. too bad, honey, my boys brought it all night long.
Comment by The Scam — September 17, 2007 @ 12:18 pm
I just knew you were going to say something about the BYU game, the point being, it was a battle in the slop pit! Two sorry defensive teams going at it, I can’t believe the cougars lost to those bums too, turning the ball over that many times, they deserved to lose. Let’s see how you are cheering when OU comes calling this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOOOYAAAAH!!!!
Yeah, we should get justin on here.
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 12:28 pm
Yep, TU really came through. What a game. And yesterday’s football was spectacular. My boys sure played good, just as I knew they would.
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 17, 2007 @ 12:51 pm
What boy! The computer picked for you so that is the comp’s boy! LOL
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 12:52 pm
Pu… leeeeeeeeeeez. I hand picked each and everyone of those guys. Plus, I’m keeping Leinart just to level the field a bit.
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 17, 2007 @ 1:06 pm
Here I am Cameron. I’ll take it this week (but you never know, Westbrook could have the game of the century tonight, ha ha).
I was definitely cheering for BYU against TU, but I’m wearing my TU hat to school today just to see if I get any good responses like an egg in the face or something fun. I haven’t got anything yet though.
Comment by towny — September 17, 2007 @ 1:22 pm
I guess some people are going through the mormon football phase with TU, just like the steve young phenon when every LDS joker on the planet liked the 49ers because of young. I guess that is what garret did with TU, started a “golden Hurricane Phenom amongst mormons! LOL
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 1:41 pm
or it might be that i’m actually going to tu. that might be part of my motivation for supporting them. besides, what has byu ever done for me? tu has given me love and support while ripping me off 100K.
nice to see you representing the hometown, justin. sorry to have destroyed you in fantasy land. too bad about the dolphins too. i don’t think trent green is going to get it done for us. and losing to the cowboys. i’m surprised tuffy hasn’t laid into us a little more. his little romo got lucky.
Comment by The Scam — September 17, 2007 @ 4:49 pm
What has BYU done for you? come on now scam? I can’t STAND people that don’t like BYU! Especially members of the church, you cannot be a good member of the church and not like BYU. BYU stands for an extension of the church and many many people have joined the church because of BYU. BYU may be one of the single greatest missionary tools and for a member to say they don’t like BYU is like a jack mormon saying they don’t need to go on a mission.
Comment by jtuffy — September 17, 2007 @ 8:49 pm
Lol… too funny. But you know, he is kinda right. Everything that happens there happens under the autority of a prophet. I’m not gonna agree that you are required to root for their sports teams, but saying you dislike the school is just kinda sad.
But, by extension… doesn’t this also mean that Jon shouldn’t talk trash about BYU-Idaho? Interesting…
I think you all knew this, my Dad joined the church at BYU. He was accepted to a masters program as a non-member. He really loved his time there and the people who shared the gospel with him.
Comment by Seth — September 18, 2007 @ 10:56 am
tuffy, my son, that statement was dripping with sarcasm. i’m just playing the devil’s advocate here, since no one was standing up for the powerhouse that TU is, i have taken it upon myself.
you know i love byu. well, sort of. i recognize the value of byu and understand its goodness. but, as it is with all good things, there are some stupid people and things about byu that mess it up.
but, i also have my agency and i can under appreciate byu if i choose, baby.
Comment by The Scam — September 18, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Hey, i don’t talk trash about Ricks,…. I mean BYU-I. LOL. I’m just not a fan of the location per se. I don’t bash the school.
I think cameron’s liberal law mind is warping the common sense! LOL. Jenny was telling me how her mom told her that there are a ton of people in Jenks that don’t like/hate BYU. That just shows plain ignorance right there.
Comment by jtuffy — September 18, 2007 @ 12:13 pm
explain to me the ignorance.
if someone has had an unpleasant experience at byu, are they not entitled to hate it. do they have to love it just because they are members of the church? that makes no sense at all.
that’s like saying you have to love the mormon tabernacle choir just because your a member of the church. they are a great missionary tool and they have brought great recognition to the church, but what if i just don’t like the music. or the director creeps me out.
Comment by The Scam — September 18, 2007 @ 12:50 pm
exactly, you have to love MoTab because of what they stand for and what they represent. That isn’t the same thing as liking their music selections. However, the music is mostly comprised of hymns which any good member of the church would tell you are nice and pleasing.
BYU (and its extensions) are representatives of the church. Of course there will always be bad people in the midst. Just think back to your mission. Did you let a few buckets ruin your experience?
Comment by jtuffy — September 18, 2007 @ 12:56 pm
Hey sorry guys this is totally off subject, but I just needed to congratulate Seth on totally kicking my butt in the fantasy league! Man I suck!! In my defense, when I was supposed to be picking my awesome team, I had to watch this really annoying girl in our ward who totally distracted me and made me forget all about the draft. I know lame excuse, but it’s all I’ve got!
Oh and about BYU. The people who hate BYU in the Jenks ward are people who didn’t even go there. Which I find really annoying. I have an uncle who hates BYU because his kids couldn’t get in. I’m sure that it has nothing to do with the fact that all of his kids had C- averages in High School! By the way this is Jenny.
Comment by Jenny — September 18, 2007 @ 1:34 pm
Jens, don’t worry. Tomlinson didn’t perform as expected. I won’t hold it against you. There’s always next week.
Alright, maybe i just don’t like the ghost-like togas that they make the MoTab wear. I’ve got nothing against the actual music. I never said that. I never even said i didn’t like the choir. just an example.
i just think its funny that you say i have to love everything that the church does. (well, you didn’t really say that, but that’s how i’m interpreting it) another thing: i love the ensign, but man, i get the biggest kick out of reading the mormon journal stories at the end. most of the time their make me cry anyways, but sometimes they are pretty hilarious. especially the writing. this in no way means that i don’t love and appreciate the prophet and the ensign.
what if i went to byu and got raped? would i have permission to not have enjoyed my experience there?
now, i’m just getting ridiculous. but i’m having fun.
c’mon, tuffy. show me what you got. how can you respond to the rape comment, huh?
Comment by The Scam — September 18, 2007 @ 3:14 pm
Man, you are throwing up softballs today scam! Yes you would have a good reason to not enjoy your experience there. However the person(s) who worked you over did not represent BYU and its values and its faith. You’ll have to come up with a better senario than that, Don’t hate the game, hate the player! LOL
But yes, i could imagine cameron getting rapped by a bunch of underage black girls! LOL, wait…. didn’t that really happen? ROFLOL
The big kicker is for someone to say they don’t like BYU just cause it is associated with the church. Basically it boils down to that they are sick of everyone talking about how awesome BYU is and they feel left out so they say, “i don’t like BYU”, a bunch of nimrods if you ask me.
Comment by jtuffy — September 18, 2007 @ 3:34 pm
true, i believe the person must have at least some legit reason to hate byu. but really, no one can hate byu, they may really not like it, but hate…that’s too strong.
Comment by The Scam — September 18, 2007 @ 4:06 pm
Ok, so can a faithful member of the church really dislike BYU? I don’t think so… and I would suggest that people who claim to, are just projecting dislike of other things onto BYU. Like the rape scenario. You don’t like BYU because of the actions of an individual. There are tons of people who claim to dislike the schools, but there is always something else at the heart of it. Or they just let some of the insignificant things about the school get blown out of proportion.
And it’s too bad that everyone still remembers the incident with Scam and the black girls… that must really suck!
Jenny… I was really worried about the game. The computer was predicting a lose for me. It stinks that you didn’t get to pick your players. Did you at least get to re-order them, or did the computer go off the experts list? Oh, Rachel told me about your job… it sounds like a really awsome program and a great chance to help some kids out, very cool.
Comment by Seth — September 18, 2007 @ 4:26 pm
Oh… and about the MoTab. Did you guys know that they sang at Nixon’s inoguration? I think I lost my testimony of the MoTab because of it. And they had a number one hit record for like 9 months in a row… pretty evil of them to exploit peoples religiosity for moola, strait priestcraft. And, all you have to do is get some hoods for those white robes and blam… you know what I’m saying. How can the church sponsor such an evil choir? I better stay home on sunday… might as well knock back a few cold ones, beat the wife and hit the indian casino while I’m at it!
Comment by Seth — September 18, 2007 @ 4:32 pm
my thoughts exactly, sloth. any excuse for debauchery. my entire testimony was based on the MoTab anyway.
Comment by The Scam — September 18, 2007 @ 4:34 pm
LOL, you guys don’t make very good Devil’s advocates. I guess that is a good thing.
Comment by jtuffy — September 18, 2007 @ 6:45 pm
Speaking of Devil’s advocate…
And what is this story about the black girls!!!!!! You learn something new about your friends all the time. Scam, don’t resist, and don’t worry. It’s only a matter of time before I know the story now. Tuffy, Seth, let’s have it!
Comment by DOMS 287 — September 18, 2007 @ 7:28 pm
“Scam, don’t resist, and don’t worry.” Man Scam… he just hitcha with his best pickup line! How can you deny him after that?
Comment by Seth — September 18, 2007 @ 9:50 pm
Yeah, what does the “don’t worry” have to do with anything? LOL, that is a classic line. We need to save that one, “don’t resist, and don’t worry”
Comment by jtuffy — September 19, 2007 @ 10:02 am
i love the way that DOMS can put me at ease with such simplicity.
so you guys want to hear the heroic tales of middle school cameron. i’ll work on the details and get it to you today.
Comment by The Scam — September 19, 2007 @ 10:10 am
Scam, i tried calling yesterday, but, as usual, just voicemail. Give me a jingle
Comment by jtuffy — September 19, 2007 @ 10:57 am
Good luck with that! lol
Comment by Seth — September 19, 2007 @ 12:11 pm
i’m sorry. my phone doesn’t get reception at the law school and if you don’t leave a message it doesn’t even show that anyone called. believe me, kressyda gives it to me all the time about how i don’t answer my phone. i swear i’ve turned over a new leaf.
oh so, so the black chicks.
well, when i was in the 8th grade i was hanging out with this chick, Kari. Kari was humbly sitting by herself outside a football game and she started getting harrassed by these black chicks. Kari, being the nice girl that she is, mouthed off back and the chicks started after her. Kari, being the genius that she is, started walking off into the unlit parking lot, away from anyone that might help her. So, being the buff (read chubby) and intimidating (read nerdy) guy that i was in middle school, i took off after her so at least someone would witness what went down.
When the gang of 12 huge black, steroid infused, man-eating ladies started to let things get out of control, I stepped in to bring kari back to safety, all the while sheltering her from the barrage of skull crushing blows that seemed to rain down from the heavens. i think one of them had a bat.
so, we made it out alive and that’s the story. no charges were pressed.
Comment by The Scam — September 19, 2007 @ 3:26 pm
Oh man, that is hilarious. I thought this was some deep, dark secret you have. But what exactly did you do to save the girl? And, were you “rewarded”? I think my favorite part of the story was, “… i took off after her so at least someone would witness what went down.”
