follwing yesterdays conversation….
That is pretty fantastic, you can make some serious money in construction. And 100 smackers a day is nothing to scoff at. You should do it for a while then start your own roofing company, then move on to entire construction. I have pretty much solidified my mind to try my hand at construction if i’m transfered to Katy in 09. I should be sitting on min to max of 10-20K to start my own little project (All that free money you get when you move). I plan on building 2-3 homes and living in one of them, so i’ll put them all up for sale and at least 1 or two of them have to sell. LOL. We should definitely get something going, you know, share the risks, so if anyone wants in, let me know.

I didn’t have to get up early today… yay! My schedule really varies alot from job to job.
I don’t think I am going to be starting my own construction buisness in the near future. I still want to get through grad school as priority one. But when that’s done… I would be interested in going into buisness with you. I have really been trying to look at what makes some construction crews better than others and how different management styles seem to get the job done. It’s pretty interesting. And can definantly be useful later on.

Oh… I am off to work on the house and then off to work so I probably wont be on again until late tonight. I was looking at our hours so far and between the job and the house I think I’ll be putting in about 75-85 hours of work a week… crazy huh?

A working man now! Does Rachael pack your lunch and tomatoe soup in a thermos? I bet that is some pretty good exercise. Good thing it doesn’t get to hot up there in Idaho. Where is Scam, Where is DOms? Hello, no one brave today?

I’m here now. Man, life is crazy. My Meemee’s surgery has been rescheduled for the 11th (the day I plan to leave!). This throws everything off. There’s a chance we may not come this weekend, but that now depends on if Brooke can get it approved at work (to leave later and stay later into July), but it’s unlikely to happen. What would you do in my circumstance? The surgery is very risky, and I’d be leaving for the conference that day. It’s great on my resume to go to the conference, especially to do a poster presentation. Not only that, but two people in particular are depending on me going. Not only that, but it goes on more people’s resumes than mine, but everyone would lose that opportunity if I don’t go. What do you think?

What could possibly go on someone else’s resume? Here’s what you do, and it is no way demeaning of brooke but why don’t you just go. Just get a plane ticket down there yourself. Brooke can stay at home and be able to work and attend to the pampered dog. Come to think of it, have you guys ever been apart? That would be my suggestion, instead of taking so much time and money to drive to and from Oklahoma.

This is a good suggestion. The only problem is that Brooke is so excited that she finally gets to go see her family. She wanted to go the TX too. Of course we should consider what you said, but I doubt it will end up that way. She’s been calling everyone telling them she’s coming.
When you give a presentation on a research article, all coauthor’s can put it on their resume too. This shows that your research is “communicated” to the public and such. It’s one thing to do research, it’s another to present/communicate it. Presenting is very important. Of course your suggestion still doesn’t solve my problem. The question is, do I go to the conference, or do I stay with Meemee?

Well that is a judgement call, if it was me, i’d stay with my grandma, but i’m not you. I still think you should fly and just go by yourself, just tell brooke that thanksgivining is just a few months away.

No, that’s the crazy lady on the Drew Carey Show!

Of course, I will admit, the spelling varies from person to person in our family since it was never officially established.

Michael, what would meemee want you to do? Would she want you to go to the conferance and help your career? I’m not sure what hte answer is… but maybe it’s the question you need to ask.
So, we just got back from eating at the Applebee’s that opened in Rexburg this week. It was quite tastey. So, now we have an Applebee’s and a Bajio… there is no reason Jon and Spencer can’t visit us now. I know of some killer little independant restaurants that would please Scam… and I have some protien powder in the cupboard for Doms. Lets all get together and I can teach you about construction… nail guns are fun.

Thanks for the input Seth.
Do you guys know why a bicycle can’t stand up on its own???
Comment by DOMS 287 — June 27, 2007 @ 11:45 pm
Tuffy remember to turn your chat on every morning!!
Doms leave brooke, see meemi for a few days leading up to surgery, then go to conference. Whe will be out of if after surgery, and you being there won’t accomplish anything.
Seth isn’t it amazing how good if feels to work. maybe doms will find that out someday, but I doubt it. and I doubt you could teach me anything about construction. Maybe after 4 houses. And you should forget grad school, and go for the construction bit. much more oportunity there. It’s not always about what you want or what makes you happy. sometimes it about what is best for the family.
Scam where were you today, out using the country club membership conoco gave you to convince you to come work for them? and is the bed and breakfast open this weekend. I might stay with one of my highschool buddies, but probably not. i get there about midnight on friday. Oh and alyson isn’t coming, do you know of any ladies i could take as my wife to the reunion. and I might need to borrow elliot for a few hours also. Does he do any tricks?
And the big news of the day is I am the proud owner of a Polaris RZR. Just picked it up tonight. this thing is amazing. I am going to have so much fun on it. You guys gotta come riding.
