Well I had a great some peoples sense isn’t common experience last night. I went to traffic school. Which was very exciting. And this 18 year old blond chick from seths home state of texas walks in. first off she gets there 15 min’s late. Then she begins the process of raising her hand every 2 minutes with some rediculous comment about everything the cop was talking about. Just completly ditzy comments. Most people in the class were looking at each other rolling their eyes and laughing under their breath. Of course she had no idea. she just continued to ramble off unrelated comment after unrelated comment completely oblivious to the rest of the class being bothered by her ramblings. While all this was happening a little chubbier more white trash version of this girl was doing the exact same thing. This girl was from ohio, and had a story about ohio for everything. So after two and a half hours of these girls belting out random, ditzy comments, the croud was getting restless. So one time the white trash girl pops off with some comment about her drivers ed teacher back in ohio. So I started laughing uncontrollably outloud. Other people began chuckling much more quietly. the Ohian was completely oblivious as to why people were laughing, and just continued with her comment. So the very proud to be a texan texan says to me, “you are so rude. You are a jerk. Your the type of person who gives utah people a bad name.” So of course I continued to laugh and say to her “we are laughing at you also”. this got a few more chuckles from the crowd, even from the relief society presidency sitting right behind me. This was all being said loud enough for the entire class and teacher to hear. At this point the white trash Ohian was finishing her drivers ed story, and the teacher continued with the last 30 minutes of the class. The blond Texan made one more brief comment, but was mostly quite for the remainder. As the class finished the cute young Texan and I made sure we exited at the same time. first we gave each other nice smiles with no words as we walked out. Then we got in the back seat of her car and took each others clothes off. Oh wait that was how the story ended in the dream, not in reality. ROTFWMPIMHLOL. So back to reality. After the brief smiles, she says “are you Mormon” I say ” of course are you?”. She says “yes” She then begins to follow me to my car. then we get in my back seat. Crap another dream. Reality. she follows to me toward my car and begins to say how rude I was to the other girl. How it was not nice at all. I was still dumbfounded by the dumb ditzy girl taking up for the other dumb girl. I said to her”I was laughing at you also. You and her need to learn when to be quite” She says “well maybe that is something I am working on”. don’t worry I didn’t feel guilty about it. She was being so nice and polite though, as she continued to tell me how I should have been nicer to the the girl. I just said ” well maybe i should have. I said I was quiet for the first 10 stupid comments before I finally had to laugh” So she just ended by saying she hoped I was rebuked in my prayers tonight. And I of course returned the same to her. we then parted ways with glancing smiles and went on our ways, each hoping we had said something that would help change the other person. And who knows maybe we did. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little short story. I sure did.

Hot Carl out !!!!

and cammeron, no i haven’t read either of those books. Remember this is only the 2 and a half book I have read other than church books. I think think I will read some related books though. I really do believe 100% in this concept and want to learn more about it. I think this book from a mormon perspective would be great. I am sure there are allready some out there, or someone is writing one right now to capitalize on the oportunity. Seth sounds like you watched the DVD. I need to get that. It is the same info reduced a bit.

one nut joe out !!!

So, Spence… have you ever heard the story about Heber C Kimble’s prayer. He was praying for someone and he starts to laugh. He continues to laugh and then says, “Lord, when I pray for some people I can’t help but laugh!” And just think… Heber C Kimble is the man the Lord uses in D&C as the perfect example of what it means to give your heart and a willing mind. So… I don’t know if it was appropriate or not… but sometimes you just can’t help but laugh. It’s a heck of alot better than other things you could have done. And if the RS prez was doing it, it must be okay right?

Sa da tay!

Comment by jtuffy — May 3, 2007 @ 8:06 am |Edit This

We’ll have to see about the crackdown. I think it just may happen! So you picked up on the hilarious quote on that website about women, huh! The gambler thing was on other pages. I think it was about the “nonbeliever”.

Spencer’s hilarious story has got my mind turning for my test. Thanks, Spence! I’ll be taking that thing in mere minutes. Then I have a paper to write really quickly to turn in. I may be quiet for a few hours here. I won’t be done with the test until about 12:30 eastern, then the frantic paper writing begins.

Leigh Ann was too slow (a smart move). I had a guest this whole time. Someone actually likes me!

Comment by Michael — May 3, 2007 @ 8:23 pm

Why should I listen to you? You praise the Mormon religion but not God, Michael.

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 8:51 pm

..Christ established His church way before the Mormon religion even existed…

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:01 pm

The Church is simply the saved. Not the Mormons, nor the Baptists, nor The Church of Christ …it’s the saved.

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:05 pm

And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:47

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:15 pm

well, then, the Church is simply the saved, not the Bible

Comment by jtuffy — May 3, 2007 @ 9:24 pm

Well Leigh Ann you are only partially wrong. Where you’re missing the boat is that the only way to be saved is to be part of Christ church. It takes a little more than a few Hail Mary’s or simply saying you except Christ one time when your 13.

and again you were right about Christ establishing his church way before the “Mormon”(more apropriately called LDS) religion existed. That church lasted potentially a couple hundred years after Christ’s death. Then there was too much confusion and false doctrine, and Christ’s true church and authority ceased to exist on earth.

Of course much truth mingled with false or confused doctrine remained on the earth. and eventually Christ restored his church and authority to the earth.

Comment by Elvis — May 3, 2007 @ 9:25 pm

What are you smokin’, Elvis…lol Where did you get that about the Christ’s church not lasting?

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:29 pm

Jon..explain your comment…

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:31 pm

When Christ was on the earth do you think he established 50 different churches all with different doctrines. Obviously He established one church with specific doctrines. But over time those are confused and people start establishing their own beliefs and their own churchs. Obviously thats why there are so many different churches today. So I got that info from 2 places. Number 1 I was born with a little thing called common sense. It just makes sense that this is what happened. Secondly this is doctrine of Christ’s true church upon the earth today.

Now if you like we can continue to discuss these matters for as long as you want, but it will never be proven to you from a logical perspective. The truth can only be confirmed to you through the spirit.

Comment by Elvis — May 3, 2007 @ 9:36 pm

Yes, and my spirit isn’t buying this. I too have common sense..that’s why I adhere to God’s word…the Bible

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:40 pm

Revelation 22:18-19

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:49 pm

ya your just missing out on the rest of God’s word. Just imagine what it would be like if you had an additional book full of more info like the bible, and the real kicker is imagine if you had Moses on the earth today giving you specific guidance for issues specific to our day.

Well thats what we have with Christ’s true church on the earth today.

And your confused as to what the “spirit” is. I am referring to the Holy Ghost.

Comment by Elvis — May 3, 2007 @ 9:53 pm

No, I’m really not confused..it’s through the Holy Spirit that I know to be careful whom I listen to.

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 9:56 pm

and Elvis !! I didn’t slip into a coma after I accepted Christ..I’ve learned more and more through the years.

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 10:03 pm

SWEET MOSES! they taught you to bust that one out in sunday school when you were 7 didn’t they. And you’ve been waiting 40 years for your chance.

We are not adding to or taking away from the bible. The Book of Mormon isn’t chapter 23 of revelations. It’s not to replace or fix the bible. It was written the same time the bible was written. It goes hand in hand with the bible.

Comment by Elvis — May 3, 2007 @ 10:06 pm

Elvis..did you leave the building? ..Yeah, I enjoyed the talk ! Goodnight,y’all! You too Chicken Michael!

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 10:08 pm

The Bible is sufficient, Elvis !

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 10:09 pm

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 3, 2007 @ 10:14 pm

sorry, I am watching the office. It is also true doctrine.

I didn’t want to get a dissagulation.

Comment by Elvis — May 3, 2007 @ 10:17 pm

Brooke kept me off the computer all night!

Leigh Ann, I hope you’re all warmed up. It’s my turn next time! Tomorrow I’ll explain exactly where I’m coming from. Everything will be very clear. Take it from the gambler extraordinaire himself, you can bet on it!

Comment by Michael — May 4, 2007 @ 12:03 am

Wowzers… I couldn’t sleep so I came to check the blof. Quite an interesting discussion.

So, my question to Leigh Ann… do you belive everything the Bible says? Because the Bible says, surely the Lord God will do nothing save he reveals it to his prophets. So, does that mean the Lord God is doing nothing? According to what you’ve said he must not.

And then there is the falling away of the truth, that “Elvis” was talking about… also called the apostacy. The New Testement contains the gospels and then the letters written by the apostles (the Lord’s chosen prophets) to correct the coruption that occured in the doctrine of Christ. A further example that the true doctrine was over come by coruption in the people is the apostles themselves. As they were killed in the bible, they were replaced by new apostles. What happened? Where did the apostles go? If new apostles were called in the Bible… isn’t that a true part of Christ’s Church?

One last thing. If the Holy Ghost is teaching you what is not true, I would be cautious. Where in the scriptures are we taught that it teaches what is not true? It only teaches what is true.

Hope this doesn’t come across as mean spirited. I really didn’t intend to be. Just wondering about the gaps between the things you have said and the Bible. This is why I am greatful for the Book of Mormon and modern Prophets, as well as the Bible… in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

Comment by Seth — May 4, 2007 @ 3:23 am

The Bible also said to beware of false prophets. How do you know the whole Joseph Smith event was real?

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 4, 2007 @ 9:33 am

Bring it Michael !

Comment by Leigh Ann — May 4, 2007 @ 9:34 am

I’ve got some studying to do…I don’t know all that much about the LDS (how bout that Elvis?) church. I admit that.
