It snowed over here. Last night mailman and I made some deliveries (I have some sweet vids for you to check out). Looks like Leigh Ann has called us out (she knows just what to say to a guy). Ben picked up Call of Duty 4. Don’t know how it is but he was on late last night. Turns out I’ll be at my advisor’s house for the holiday. My mom is coming in on the 14th. Somehow I have to get it all together to get through this semester. That’s about all I can think of. Alright, who’s next?

Don’t I though !!! Jon is ignoring me though. Anyway, Hi, Doms ! Have a Happy Thanksgiving !

Comment by Leigh Ann — November 20, 2007 @ 1:21 pm

Yep, i’m ignoring the fact that Texas Vo-Tech beat OU when OU’s QB was out after the first play.

Comment by jtuffy — November 20, 2007 @ 7:15 pm

Oh man, I can’t believe the article. Did you read any of the comments about the article? I prepared a comment of my own but I decided it wasn’t the best idea to post it, under the circumstances. One time I thought I was going to be killed by Lakeisha Vann’s boyfriend. That guy was a lunatic. I was at a gas station filling up the ol’ jeep (remember the crazy times in the jeep?) with Ben. Recall that it had the soft top. As I was filling up (with gasoline mind you–very flammable), this dirty-looking dude drives by real slow with his friends. I didn’t know who he was at the time (Keisha’s boyfried), but he stuck his head out of the window and flicked his cigarette onto my soft top very deliberately, just trying to be the bully. He kept moving and pulled out onto the road immediately and drove off. So I quickly put the pump up and told the deputy to saddle up, we were going for a ride! We took off, hot on their trail… Caught up to them and antagonized them with the breath of my steed on the back of their necks. They were smelling blood by then. So I cut them off and pulled into a dark parking lot like I was ready to throw down… I had it all planned out, I knew the parking lot had a divider in the middle and they couldn’t make the first turn… I went to the middle of the parking lot and stopped, showing I had no fear… Just as I had planned, they pulled into the next entrance and came charging in… At that time, I just did a nice little U-ee and cruised right out as they were getting stuck at the divider and getting out of the car! We just drove off un-scaved. It was hilarious! Hilarious that is until Monday came around and Lakeisha literally tracked me down at school to warn me that her boyfriend was looking for me!! I didn’t even know what she was talking about! She then said something about the chase and it all came together. So I did what any respectable Sheriff would do in that kind of situation… I begged her to tell him that I was cool and that she liked me!! It was all fun and games until the gangstas knew who I was! I didn’t know how I was going to defend against the drive-by with my soft top!

This story is great for two reasons: One, of course the part of my duping the gangstas, but two, my deputy was not so relaxed, especially when I pulled into the parking lot! Now that is some funny stuff!

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 21, 2007 @ 1:46 am

That is hilarious, i bet Ben was pooping his pants big time! And yes the green jeep with the soft top had many good times!!

Comment by jtuffy — November 21, 2007 @ 10:32 am

Yea… I bet Ben really Barney Fifed it up good. I can just imagine the “gangstas” rolling up and him flashing the hang loose symbol… that woulda been classic right there!

Comment by Seth — November 21, 2007 @ 12:59 pm

Seth, Ben flashing the symbol, too funny, and too true! Remind me where that came from.

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 21, 2007 @ 2:32 pm

Well, Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hopefully you monkeys got some stones and at least watched football.

Comment by jtuffy — November 22, 2007 @ 1:16 am

I saw the Boise Hawaii game… it was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Very entertaining. I was so pissed that boise didn’t win though, but Hawaii has a killer team. Anyone else see it?

Comment by Seth — November 26, 2007 @ 11:40 am

Can’t say that i saw that one, I’m not a big fan of either team.

Comment by jtuffy — November 26, 2007 @ 12:43 pm

Even so… a good game is a good game.

guess Jonny is back to the grind after his nearly 6 month vacation. How was the first day back? Did everyone remember you?

Doms i forgot your email. Everyone else i sent you one tonight. Don’t know if it is junk or real. Do what you want with it. My uncle on a mission sent it to my dad and he sent it to me. I usually delete all email of that sort. But would have felt a smidge bad if I deleted that one.

Jon or seth will you email to Doms. Hopefully he isn’t one of the 287000. HaHa

i sent it to Carrie george and got this back

Hi,

I will be in China and Indonesia in November, but I’ll get back to you
as soon as I can.

Best,

Carrie

Carrie Mae George

what a crazy!!!. Guess she is off trying to screw us all. If she succeeds we would have to pay $300 for a pair of nike’s because an over paid chineese adult would make them rather than a 9 year old in a sweat shop. Thats the problem with liberals in america the land of “freedom”. They only want you to be free to follow their beliefs. You arn’t free to believe in God, Beat Your Kids, Or eat steak. What a bunch of monkeys.

There’s a little rant for the day.

And yes there were several amazing college games on overe the weekend. Seth the boise/hawaii game was good, but probably about the 5th best game over the weekend. Arkansas/LSU, Tennesee/Kentucky, Missouri/Kansas, were all better. The most pathetic game was BYU and Utah. Byu won a pathetically low scoring game by some crazy miracle. Then Their ignorant reciever Austin Collie says on the radio today that they Won because of Divine intervention because of the righteousness of BYU. Unbelievable. Don’t get me wrong I dislike Utah as much as the next guy, but how stupid could you be to say that. Thats almost as bad as the college coach comparing his teams 2 losses to Pearl Harbor and the 911 attacks. Sweet Moses!!!!!! this world is packed full of dumb people.

alright now I am done ranting for the day.

YO YO MA out!!

Comment by yo yo ma(is that someones name) — November 27, 2007 @ 1:08 am

That was some terific ranting! I hadn’t heard the statement by the receiver or coach… what a bunch of idiots. And concerning the Liberal thing… it’s not just their problem. Both sides are in the middle of the worst ego driven pissing contest since the civil war. Both sides feel that there is a fundamental problem with the other because they don’t agree with each other’s “moral” views. There is so much hate and derision in the way both sides view and talk to each other it’s disgusting. But, some of our countrys greatest triumphs have come out of similar conflict (like the constitution and abolition of slavery.) Should we hug it and be nice to each other or should we continue to spit out the names of our political oponents like an obsenity? We lived in a messed up time and if you think either side is “right” you are as crazy as the BYU receiver. The real question is, are the sides arguing over anything important enough to justify this kind of conflict? Are they arguing over anything remotely close to the constitution or abolition of slavery in importance? Why don’t they just work on making the contry the best place it can be for as many people as possible and stop trying to fool the populace into buying their bogus “moral” conflict.

Sometimes I wonder if the “moral” conflict is just a cover up. I wonder if the modern political machine that our elected official have made has become so flabby that the officials aretrying to cover up the fact that they are so mired in beureaucracy they can’t really change anything. Anyway… Sorry about the rant and the sub rant.

So… that e-mail, I’m gonna have to vote bogus for a couple reasons. First… it’s not an acurate way to take signitures for a petition. If it was actualy trying to accomplish something there would be more effort put into it than an email. Second… the FCC has no control over this type of censorship. This is a common misunderstanding about the FCC. They exist to censor only one thing, obsenity defined as sexualy explicit material. That’s why you can say a$$ on tv but not a$$ hole… the later has to much sexual referance. But, even though many networks avoid the use of the Lord’s name in vane as being in poor taste… it still sneaks it’s way into tv from time to time. The same with violence, though considered poor taste and general avoided, it is not actualy controled by the FCC and occasionaly makes it’s way onto TV. Also… the FCC only regulates TV networks that broadcat over the airwaves (like NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS.) Anything viewed only on cable is entirely outside the jurasdiction of the FCC. Any censorship on cable TV is self imposed as a service to their viewers (aka, if they offend to many people they will lose viewers and therefore loose advertising revinew) … which is why you will occasionaly see un-edited material on cable.

Anyway… sorry about the massive block of text! Any thoughs?

Comment by Seth — November 27, 2007 @ 1:08 pm

Wow, some major rants going on, maybe i’ll be able to comment and add my two cents as well.

First off - i think the email is bogus, online petitions are not done through email signatures. I have participated in a few online petitions, like the janet jackson “wardrobe malfunction” and the “don’t ever let ashley simpson perform again” petition”, but these direct you to a legal website for you to put your john hancock. I’m sure there are some crazies out there that want to impose their atheist views on the general public, i just find it amazing that these people are even given a snippet in the papes or media for a sounding board. These people need to be flogged 100 times over.

Was that the BYU coach that said the losses were like 911 and pearl harbor or were you just referencing another example?

Concerning liberals, i’m sick of them, i’m sick of people like hilary clinton who think there is a big magic wand to fix the problem and help everyone out. This country is moving more and more towards socialism. I think that you should be able to vote based on how much taxes you pay. I’m sick of all this illegal alien, medical, poverty, race crap where people want more and more of my money that I work for. And yes the republican party is fat on the hog as well, however, they are the better of the two evils.

How bout this rant. Has anyone read the article in the news about the lady who may be whipped in Sudan for letting her kindergarten class name a teddy bear muhammad? How crazy is that? I’m telling you Islam is become the current gen Nazi. Something is going to have to be done about these uneducated fanantics oneday.

Comment by jtuffy — November 27, 2007 @ 1:39 pm

I’m glad that you at least added uneducated fanatics. It amazes me that some people think all Muslims fall in this catagory.

I sent the chain-mail to my mom, she hates junk email so much that she has found great ways to debunk them and then sends them back to the people she got them from to show them they are crazy. Here’s what she said (lol)…

“Seth,
You are absolutely right that this is an Internet scam. The fact that Madalyn Murray O’Hair has been missing since 1995 and her body was found in an oil drum buried in a Texas field in 2001, has not slowed down the sincere but passionately misguided Christians who rise up in righteous indignation at anything that crosses their computer screens. Here is the article in Snopes about this. This petition was actually filed in 1974. As you read the article you can see how it got twisted into people thinking it was a ban on all religious broadcasting. I am glad you are not just following blindly those who think that signing some Internet petition is going to do one whit of good. It just goes round and round and never gets to the organization it was intended for. Crazy, huh?

http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/fcc.asp

Snopes is a great place to look up anything questionable that people send you. I usually “Reply All” with the link to the Snopes article. Every once in a while you find something that is true, but most are absolutely false.

Mom”

Geez luiz! I went to snopes.com and was hit by about 25 pop-ups!! Seth, tell your mom thanks for me, I’ve learned my lesson! I won’t fall for these internet scams that people suggest anymore!

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 29, 2007 @ 2:44 am

That is a really funny email.

Comment by jtuffy — November 29, 2007 @ 8:47 am

Doms… why aren’t you running a pop-up blocker. When I went to snopes I had 0 pop-ups. But I’m sure this will just turn into an extension of nothing being your fault… it always does. Anyway…

I really thought all that buisness would get some fun discussion going… guess I was wrong.

Have any of you guys played mass effect yet? I have been hearing great things about it. I really need to get a 360… there are a ton of games out I want to play right now!

Comment by Seth — November 29, 2007 @ 10:35 am

Oh, man that had me cracking up. Well, no one really blogs anymore, except for maybe one or two blurbs a day.

I’ve heard great things about mass effect as well. I actually thought it would be a much bigger game than i thought it would have been.

I want to get a few games for the 360 like, Bioshock, Assasins Creed, Call of Duty 4. The list is too long, and then GTA4 comes out soon. However, its too hard to put halo down. It will be awhile before that happens.

Comment by jtuffy — November 29, 2007 @ 11:00 am

I keep hearing about people giving halo up for call of duty. People expected it to be good… but I’m not sure they expected it to be that good.

Comment by Seth — November 29, 2007 @ 11:23 am

Yeah, its really good, i love it.

Comment by jtuffy — November 29, 2007 @ 11:51 am

tuffy, what is really good? I think seth was referring to call of duty being the good one, but you seem to be referring to halo.

Ben is hounding me big time to get call of duty. The problem with that game is that you can’t play co-op on the campaign, and he says the campaign is awesome. I tend to believe his campaign-quality-judgment on this is reliable - at least for me because both ben and I hate the halo 3 campaign. That campaign was enormously boring! Only certain parts were actually fun, but they were few and far between.

I don’t even know about these other games you guys mentioned.

About the pop-up blocker, I do have one, but somehow they seem to get through it at times. Have you noticed how they have found a way to bypass your blocker and make those pop-ups that look like part of the page, but really are just blocking the page you are looking at and the close button is very inconspicuous? Annoying. Those are going to be the new pop-ups.

Comment by doms — November 29, 2007 @ 3:41 pm

I’m surprised no one has written. Especially tuffy, as I have directly attacked his baby, not to mention that I think he has some news of his own. Oh well, back to work to free up some halo time for tonight.

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 29, 2007 @ 8:04 pm

I was talking about how i loved the call of duty game. I think it is pretty sweet. I also think the Halo campaign is awesome! I really like the epic story of the Halo universe. Doms, you probably never played the first one and got sucked into the halo story. Love the campaign, and i’m just about to finish it on Legendary, just two more levels to go.

And yes, some big news, we are having a Boy! Pretty exciting stuff. The legend continues.

Comment by jtuffy — November 30, 2007 @ 9:20 am

Maybe i’ll get call of duty for christmas, as a gift to myself! LOL

Comment by jtuffy — November 30, 2007 @ 9:21 am

I think my gift to myself this year is going to be blinds for the house… yay…

Any word on Spencer’s weight? I think we should all send him alot of holiday goodies, fudge and britle and divinity and bacon and hams and all the good stuff…

Comment by Seth — November 30, 2007 @ 10:47 am

Yes, I must admit that I was sucked into the halo story without knowing the background of halo 1. That indeed may explain some things.

I’m also thinking about call of duty for Christmas, but it will be Brooke’s gift to me! The only hesitation I have about getting it (besides the money) is that Ben HATES halo and once I get call of duty he will only want to play that. I don’t know if I’ll ever really want to substitute another game online for halo. It’s a never ending challenge online and endless fun and surprises. You’re always learning new things and getting new $10 maps for years! How can I choose to play something else when my time is already so limited (i.e., I can’t get enough halo as is)! I hated all the times we played gears of war over halo. That game is about 20% of the fun halo brings. Call of duty was fun, definitely, but still nothing compared to halo and I was always preferring to play halo over the call of duty demo. I look forward to call of duty for times when we aren’t online together.

Last night, what happened to promising-to-play-at-11:00 pm-tuffy??? I was on my game last night! Take for instance the stats of one of our games:

It was ben and me, double team
First to 25 kills wins
Ben died 13 times (again, of 25)
Ben got 2, count’em, 2 kills
DOMS racked up 23 kills to win the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it’s amazing that I got 23 of 25 kills, but even more amazing that we won at all with ben dying so much without the kills to offset. I have other examples of this too. It’s just too bad that this only strengthened ben’s hatred for halo.

And tuffy, I have some cool things to show you on the Pit and possibly on another map too. Only one thing is possibly functional, but most are just fun.

And yes, we should check in with fatty and see how he’s doing after the holidays.

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 30, 2007 @ 3:06 pm

I really wanted to get online, but i was beat down, the Packers tried to make a game out it last night so i had to hang around till 11:30 watching the ‘boys and then i just called it a night. Wished i could’ve played, but i’m already about to fall asleep right now! So what is on tap for the weekend? Any plans? Any halo plans?

And yes Doms, DO NOT GET CALL OF DUTY! Ben will only want you to play that. Tell him you want the game but are enjoying halo too much, if that doesn’t work, just say that you think brooke is getting it for you for Christmas.

I can’t believe you still play that slow-mo double punch stuff. Talk about boring!

Comment by jtuffy — November 30, 2007 @ 3:41 pm

Double team is awesome. You can control team factors much better - instead of the crazy free-for-all that comes with 4-man+ teams (especially when you don’t regularly play with the guys on your huge team). The kills are more methodical, rather than just waiting for one to pop up b/c you know there are so many and they will be mostly unorganized. I wish you liked it more. We could really put some awesome team work together.

About the weekend, the only thing I know for sure is that I’m out for tonight. It’s Brooke’s day off today and she made me commit to plans for tonight.

Comment by DOMS 287 — November 30, 2007 @ 4:11 pm

You see, that is where i think a game like call of duty would be funner for something double team. Halo is just pure crazyness. Its not really modeled after the “real life” norm of shooting someone once and they die. That is why i think halo really takes a lot of the tacticall sense out of the game. Don’t get me wrong, that is why we get slaughter in league play, but in halo if you have the drop on someone and they have their back turned, it isn’t a guarentee that you’ll get the kill. Whereas CoD, you’ll get the kill.

I might be playing tonight, since the OU game will be on tomorrow night.
