Saturday May 5th… where is everyone?
Filed under: Uncategorized — Seth @ 6:54 pm
Just wonder where everyone went? Pretty quiet today. Carries sent me a video clip from The Colbert Report. Here is the clip… it’s about raising boys, and helping them become men. Very funy and I learned some good tips that I can use too!

http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/?lnk=v&ml_video=86260

This video got me thinking… who were my heros when I was a kid? I’m just curious (in all seriousness) who were your heros when you were growing up? I thought this would be fun to think about and hope you all will indulge me.

The hero’s that I could think of were John Glen and Chuck Yeager. I don’t think that I ever really understood what their accomplishments entailed, but I knew that they did things no one else had ever done. They took risks and they “pushed the outside of the envelope”… and they came back from it. Some other’s that I remember thinking about when I was young were Joseph Smith and especialy Brigham Young. And, I think it’s interesting that these men had the same kinds of accomplishments, unique and groundbreaking. Later in my youth I became interested in the pioneers of modern popular music, and artists who pioneered in their fields. Some examples that are worth mentioning are, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkle, Michaelangelo (he was one of the first sculptors to sign his work and later to employ abstraction) and Van Gogh.

The other thought I had, while reflecting on those I looked up to as a child, frightened me a little. I was surprised by how many Heros from television and movies came to mind. Luke Skywalker (my first memory is of watching Empire!), Eliot from ET (another early memory, first movie I remember in the theater), The Duke Brothers, Mr T, Rocky (it was rough when they fought each other!), Spiderman, Ralph Hinkley (The Greatest American Hero) Billy from Gremlins, Indiana Jones (even though I saw Gremlins and The Temple of Doom, the two movies that were the catalist for the PG-13 rating, in the theaters and was compleatly horified I still admired their heros for dealing with something that I could not), GI Joe (defending America’s oil interests over seas… GO JOE!), Transformers, Vultron, The Gummi Bears(!), and the list goes on and on! Do any of you find it odd that we allow hollywood and it’s shifting morals to influence us and our children so heavily?

So, I am excited to see who your heros were!

I assume Tuffy got this thing started.

Before I get started, we had to buy a new keyboard just a few hours ago. This one cost us $10. You can imagine the quality, but it had to be done on a strict budget. Also, you freaks might like to know that I applied for my first job today. I’d tell you what it is, but you guys don’t like Wal-Mart. Just kidding, but I’m not going to tell you what it is yet. I want to learn more about it before I confess.

My heroes were the ones I could relate to, not just admire for what THEY did. Therefore, Superman all the way! Spiderman too of course! And don’t forget Hee-Man, Barry Sanders, Jose Conseco (baseball), Jeremy McGrath (motocross/supercross). These listed are basically in chronological order. Even recently I’ve found myself admiring the Gov. of California. This man has accomplished EVERYTHING he has set his mind to (Despite popular belief, I’m really not impressed by bodybuilders. Actually, I hate those liers.). Seven-time Mr. Olympia, superstar in movies, and now governor. I believe, with Bush support, he’ll be our president soon. No need for you losers to scream out, “BUT HE CAN’T BE PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!! I’M SO SMART BECAUSE I KNOW THIS AND YOU DON’T, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!” Yes, I know that. However, he hasn’t failed yet. I know he’s got his mind on it, and I believe the Bush’s are going to help him.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed that. I can’t think of anyone else off the top of my head. Actually, I thought of one that persists today. I am continually amazed by Mitch Brower, my stepdad. He is the most amazing man I’ve ever met. Straight up.

Leigh Ann…You…Me……..IT’S ON!!!!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 1:27 am

So, I failed to mention the sports hero. Pete Rose. I was raised a Reds fan, going to see them play every summer. It was always a big deal to see Pete Rose. And in my families oppinion he could do no wrong. When all of his sordid dealings were revealed, all they remembered was how he had captivateded them when he was playing and led his team to success as a manager. I still don’t know if he should be in the Hall of Fame or not. He was a hero, he brought hope to so many people. But went on to tarnish the example he could have set. This may sound odd, but it kinda’ reminds me of King David. Even though he was so righteous and did so many great things, the sins he commited later in life will forever separate him from the reward he could have had.

Thanks for your responses Michael. I wanna hear more about this, “job” that you speak of.

Comment by Seth — May 6, 2007 @ 3:34 am

The whole pete rose thing is a huge black-eye for baseball today! Not in the sense of what Rose did, but in the hypocrisy that baseball (sports) is today. A man is shunned from baseball for betting! While the likes of Barry Bonds and Maquire get one-liners in newspapers for participating in illegal activities that actually alter the outcomes of games, instead of betting. While thugs in the NFL and NBA can shoot and kill people and get suspended for a few games and have their wild orgy romps and have to sit on the bench, what hypocrisy is that a great player is osterzied from the sport for betting!

I can’t think of any heros that i thought about on a ongoing basis. There is always the uber-popular ones we pick up in the media that have already been mentioned. I was a big GI Joe and He-Man ultra user. I probably don’t have very many idol figures since i never really had a father-figure growing up besides my awesome gramps. And you can’t really put women into the role of hero! ……….. LOL, that is a joke folks, come on now! Honestly though, they just didn’t have amerian idol on tv yet….. ok, enough funnies, seriously though, heros to me have always been the everyday joes people that would be in the right place at the right time to act courageously. That is why Joseph Smith is so appealing. He was average, yet shined in the face of adversity. War stories are facintating to me as well, how some young men go off periously and obey orders and fight and die for a cause. War has probably been a bit over-glamorized but i think it is amazing of average people doing extrodianry things.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 12:12 pm

Tuffy, perfect point on Pete Rose. And it is peculiar you didn’t turn out more gay than you already are since you didn’t have the father-figure. Never mind, I was there!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 1:34 pm

Yea, couldn’t agree more about Pete. I know you all have seen that he is a great player… but I’ve been with the people who live in the area around Cincinnati. At the time he was playing there was increadable poverty and hardship in the city as well as in the surrounding area. He brought hope to the hopeless and he deserves to be recognized for it.

Jon also mentioned something I relate too. I think it was around the time I was serving the mission I really started to look to everyday people as heros. This has continued on since then and has really molded me. The things people do everyday, to provide for their families and to seek fulfilment with them are amazing! I think one of the reasons that this has occured for me is because of the loss of my Father at a time in my life when I feel I could use his guidance the most. Looking at what made him great and looking for those qualities in others has really strengthened me and given me hope.

I’m excited to see how Jon feels about “The Children’s Crusade”. Hope you are all starting on SH-5. I got my highlighters out, I’m digging in and excited to hear what everyone has to say!

Comment by Seth — May 6, 2007 @ 3:13 pm

I am quite offended that I was not mentioned as a hero of anyones. I think we all know what happens to you guys without my constant influence and guidance.

Pete rose is awsome, and should be in the hall of fame. I think there are very few athletes today that could or should be a hero to kids. I think Peyton Manning currently is a good canidate. But I am sure he will find a way to botch it up. I think Pat Tillman is another who should be a hero.

I am sure there were plenty of professional athletes and watched and immitated growing up. Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ozzie Smith, Jordan to name a few.

Of course there’s the obvious father answer.

I think we had several men in our ward growing up that influenced us. Think of the time some of them spent away from home with us. Russell Hale, Brother Chai, Brother Adams, and even Brother Young. We all have countless memories involving these men. I hope I am brave enough to drive down a dirt road at 30 MPH with 5 teenagers hanging on for their life on the back bumper. Or brave enough to watch those teenagers dance around a fire naked smoking cocoa stogies and throwing cans of cheese wiz in the fire to explode. Or running full speed through a pitch black gym with those teenagers trying to get an eraser in a trash can.

And Jon I know women aren’t suppose to qualify as hero’s, but I think your mom has to qualify.

Comment by spencer — May 6, 2007 @ 3:27 pm

Alright boys, I have an interview set up on Tuesday. I’ll give you guys a hint: Thanks to my hero, Spence, it’s in sales.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 3:34 pm

yep, those are some very good comments, i don’t remember much about brother chai except his directions to kolob and making me cook a steak for michael chai who showed up late, its a good thing i urinated on that grill huh! LOL. Bro bingham was a pretty goo dinfluence on my lifes, and i think that the people you hang out with are some of the most influential people in your lives, so you are all pretty much my heros, except for cameron since he is never around! LOL, …. wait JK he was always around back them. But you were also villians! … and yes things did seem to go amuck when spencer left early on his mission, he hosed everything up! Just think we would all probably be sitting around together right now, billionares if spence didn’t have his brain in his pants why he was out in happy valley!

I think i know michaels job!

I’ve started to read slaughterhouse 5, about 75 pages in, pretty funny stuff!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 5:50 pm

i forgot to pickup slaughter house. Am I missing anything. I don’t know if I would catch up at this point. does cameron really not have $30 a month for internet.

Comment by spencer — May 6, 2007 @ 6:36 pm

Oh yeah, tuffy? Let’s all take guesses as to what my job is. You all get ONE DETAILED guess. The CLOSEST one gets a prize! Remember, I’ve only given that one hint. Now, let’s have those guesses!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 6:42 pm

And remember, you’d better act fast for your guess! If someone else guesses YOUR guess first, then you have to take another guess! Also, if you hurry, then I’ll be obligated to spill the beans!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 6:44 pm

well I narrowed it down very quickly to something where you arn’t wearing any clothes but a speedo or small shorts. I am not sure after that though. I am going to go with underwear model at a department store. if not that then its an MLM. (no I will not sign up for long distance MLM just because a major league baseball player is going to call me.) LOL.

Comment by spencer — May 6, 2007 @ 8:08 pm

Well I guess another hint is in order simply due to my curiosity: What is an “MLM” anyway?

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 8:13 pm

And Spence, looks like you and I will be out of the book club since we don’t enjoy reading fiction (sorry Seth, I thought this was a nonfiction book based on your initial description), and also because everyone except us has started. I can’t catch the infamous Jonny Speed Reader.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

multi level marketing.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

I have a suggestion for the webmaster. Since no one really blogs during the weekend, you should make a “Weekend” page instead of each day of the weekend. The blog itself will show the exact day and time of the actual blog, so there will be no confusion in that regard. And by the way, I think you guys are losers for not blogging as much during the weekend. It just says you’re bored at work, not that you actually care to do it.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 9:31 pm

well, i knew the “book” club wouldn’t work out due to people only wanting to do what they wanted, so i’ll pass on “the secret” and “how to take steriods in the backside” How bout them apples! LOL Booyahh

So far the book is pretty interesting, its a short read and he always follows up deaths with “so it goes” I really haven’t seen the anti-war themes, it seems like an anti-life book. So did this vonnegut actually go through the bombing of dresden?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 9:42 pm

how long is the book. I will go pick it up and try to read it, but you will probably be finished tomorrow before I even start it. I forgot to pick it up, but didn’t know for sure we were starting this weekend. if its not that long, on cd, and we have till next weekend, i might be able to make it happen.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 9:47 pm

its about 215 pages with nice big bold, spaced print! I have already read 120 pages today, it breezes by, shouldn’t take too long to read it, especially since you have that speed reading program frodo! You watching your beloved giants take on my phillies?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 9:57 pm

Spence, you’re such a wuss. You always strive to satisfy tuffy. It’s pathetic. Why don’t you be your own man.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 9:57 pm

Yeah spence, what a wuss, why think about anybody but yourself! LOL

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:06 pm

Michael I’m your moms own man. Its all about getting what you want. I want them to read the secret. So I will act like I read slaughter house. really I will just read reviews to get enough info to chat about it, then we will read the secret. Your just shocked anytime somebody isn’t willing to do exactly what you want them to.

Phillies just took the lead 6 to 5. But I am sure Barry will save the day and hit a dinger to bring the giants back.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:08 pm

Actually you’re wrong there Spence. The truth is I know what YOU want, so I am calling you a wuss for not doing what YOU want. I’m not affected by what you choose. I just worry that you can’t stand up to tuffy and be your own man, even though you can to everyone else (and anyone with a brain knows you can do that ONLY because you know it will make tuffy laugh - again, pathetic).

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:17 pm

And tuffy, you’re a hypocrite. Your sarcasm about thinking of others doesn’t apply to yourself. You are the last one to do what other people in the group want.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:21 pm

Wowzers, sounds like someone has a man-crush on Frodo! It’s always nice to know that someone else knows exactly what you want! LOL

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:22 pm

You’re right doms, it pretty much just applied to you! : )

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:23 pm

I realized not a single person read the article I gave out. That was to HELP you guys, but none of you respected the offer enough to do it. But still, you guys all want ME to read something FICTIONAL for FUN! Think about the contrast there.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:24 pm

and plus, i’d hardly say that i’m the one that likes to go against the grain!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:24 pm

WARNING SPENCE!! Tuffy’s latest posts are going to influence you further!! RESIST!!!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:25 pm

Wow looks like its that time of the month for Michael. He is definantly on one for some reason today.

Well I had a couple of hours to waste tonight, but slaughterhouse 5 is the only Kurt vonnegut book Itunes doesn’t have available for download. So I’ll pick it up in the morning and listen to it this week. Its only 6 hours of listening.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:26 pm

PULEEZ TUFFY! You SHAVE against the grain!!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:26 pm

Yes, most people are probably more intersted in FUN, so i see no contrast.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:27 pm

Exactly, shaving against the grain makes it smoother, but going against the grain makes life easier.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:29 pm

Your upset about nobody reading your link you posted. I have said multiple times before. I don’t click on links. It not worth the time. Seth is posting like 5 links per comment. So I just move on past links I see. I am reading the blog to see what you guys have to say, not other random people.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:29 pm

There goes another influencing post by tuffy.

Spence, when was the last time you belted one out against tuffy? You know, one of your classics where you put him down for everything he does and believes in? That’s right, it hasn’t happened! That’s because you focus on everyone else in order to impress tuffy. As I keep saying, pathetic.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:30 pm

yep, second that motion, plus i believe you prefaced the article for cameron and seth, excluding spence and me, but i could be wrong, only the archives can tell

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:31 pm

I put tuffy down every once in a while. but usually I agree with what he is saying. Tuffy and I arn’t extremist. We don’t usually put crazy things out there to get critiqued.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:32 pm

Spence, I was referring to the article I sent through email. You could print it out if you wanted. However, I’m not exactly referring to you in that case. You know why? Because tuffy has been openly against the reason for the article; therefore you are too! I didn’t expect YOU to read it, but I did send it to you anyway just in case.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:33 pm

yep we are two peas in a pod, there is always room for one more pea in the pod since there are usually three, but you just have to conform to the dark side!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:35 pm

oh, I haven’t checked my email in a couple of days. What in the world is this article about. I haven’t seen you this hyped up about something in a while.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:35 pm

OH PULEEZ SPENCE!!! I guess you don’t realize ALL the times tuffy speaks against YOU!! You’re just his little pet! Tuffy, you’ve created a monster!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:35 pm

yep, there is no extremism in our pod.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:36 pm

Of course I recognize the times he says something against me. I just don’t get all pissy about it.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:38 pm

so lets back up here, ………… ah yes, i found it, that’s the beauty of email! Its always there, the article was titled, and i’ll quote “Article for Seth & Cameron.pdf” … you know it is a federal offence to read someone elses mail.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:39 pm

when do i say anything against spence?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:40 pm

Here’s the details of who I sent the article to and when:

>From: “Michael Coday”
>To: “Seth Stephenson”
>CC: “spencer henry” , “Cameron Ming”
>, tuffycummings@gmail.com,
>carrie.mae.george@gmail.com
>Subject: Re: Fwd: Word
>Date: Thu, 12 Apr 2007 12:17:05 -0400

Spence, try treating tuffy like everyone else. He’ll be impressed by that, I promise.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:40 pm

Man, you really do KNOW what spence WANTS! LOL, taking away free agency, wonder where that comes from.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:41 pm

and you probably just don’t recognize any banter going on between Tuffy and me. Because you are so rapped up in your agenda’s you are trying to push. You haven’t talked about nutrition for a while. I am sure you have a timeline you are working on. your just chomping at the bits, getting inpatient waiting for your chance to bring it back up again.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:42 pm

Very funny tuffy. But, I have the email too!! Here’s a snippet from the email:

“Alright, Seth and Cameron. I’ve attached an article for you guys to read
(of course everyone is invited to read it, but I think I have already shown
it to Jon).”

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:42 pm

yes, i have that email, so what is the title of the article saved as????

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:43 pm

Amen brother baggins…….. whoops, now you are influencing me!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:44 pm

Spence, here’s the truth (obviously only you and I know it). You would respect my science of eating and training, but tuffy has influenced you away from it, no doubt about that. Your attitude CHANGED to CONFORM to tuffy’s opinion. I’m not even directing these comments toward tuffy, but he can’t help but try to protect what he has created in you. That’s why he keeps trying to post things to keep you under his wing. Pathetic. Tuffy, what are you going to say when God asks you why you didn’t help Spence make better decisions for his health?

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:46 pm

LOL. I bet you $50 that article in the email was about nutrition wasn’t it. Thats why you didn’t directly ask me and jon to read it. But now you are offended that we didn’t read it. When is your period over and you will go back to normal.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:47 pm

Tuffy, I see through you like a windex’ed, streak-free window! I see the psychology in your post of “…now you’re influencing me!”. That’s so easy, buddy.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:48 pm

I told you spence, I didn’t direct the post to you or tuffy earlier about not reading the article. I knew you guys wouldn’t. You didn’t say you would. That didn’t apply to you.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:49 pm

That post about God asking me about Spence’s health really did make me chuckle out loud. That is too funny, we all know you just shooting from the hip trying to create controvery here, but that post really was funny

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:51 pm

No its the large sausage and black olive pizza that have influenced me away from it. Obviously I am fat and have more interest in it than Jon. I have tried talking to you about it a few times, but it is just too extreme to do it. there is no middle ground.

again tuffy and I just think alike in most of these things. most other people do also, they just try to let you down easy.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 10:52 pm

So why the flak if it “didn’t apply to us”? Just stirring the pot huh!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:52 pm

Tuffy, if you want to be a leader, try to be more constructive for your followers.

Spence, if you want to follow, try picking leaders that want to help you.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:53 pm

oh man, i’m going to have to pee my pants, Spence call seth, tell him to unplug WoW and log on!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:53 pm

Doms, did you take an extra 50 CCs tonight on the rear, where is all this crazy talk coming from. Leaders and followers, that is some really good stuff! LOL

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:54 pm

Tuffy, it was to show you that you won’t read what other people want you to. It would only take you 30 minutes or less to read it!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 10:55 pm

And yes, i would agree that usually spence and i think along the same lines, its kinda weird, but like spence says, i think it is just common sense stuff and it baffles me that not everyone has it!

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:56 pm

See this the narcasistic hyprocrisy coming through, for a matter of fact, i did read it, i’d bet that i’m the only one that actually did, but while your on your soap box pointing fingers and claiming whodunit, i just chose not to comment on it since i think i have already stated my opinion on the matters quite openly.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 10:59 pm

Michael I know you will think I am just following my leader, But Jon actually does try to appease everyone. He gives in to your wants and needs all the time. Again you are usually to rapped up in yourself to ever see this.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 11:01 pm

seth has company over. he might jump on

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 11:01 pm

Oh….my….GOSH!!! There you go again, tuffy! As if I have to point this out to you, but here goes anyway: You two think the same way because he has CONFORMED to you over the past MANY years! I can read Spence’s mind. It goes something like the following (although more instinctive now than ever): “What can I say to be offensive to everyone except jon that will also make him laugh?”

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:02 pm

You were right Spence. Exactly! You were “just following your leader” with that pathetic comment.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:04 pm

Tuffy, when did you read it?

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:04 pm

so are these salvos aimed at me or spence?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 11:05 pm

I don’t believe you are this crazy. you have gotta be cracken up as you are typing this jibberish. just waiting for the time to tell us you were joking

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 11:05 pm

Even if you DID read it, tuffy. You still COMPLETELY influenced Spence to NOT read it and to believe it was worthless WITHOUT even reading it.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:07 pm

Tuffy, did you learn the word “salvo” by reading slaughterhouse 5?

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:08 pm

have you seen me naked. obviously it is food not jon that influences me. You are dumbfounded by us both having common sense.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 11:08 pm

Come on, tuffy. You can admit it.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:08 pm

Spence, what are you trying to say? Where does common sense come in when trying to prove you’re fat?!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:10 pm

I’ll i have to say is man i must be good “Even if you DID read it, tuffy. You still COMPLETELY influenced Spence to NOT read it and to believe it was worthless WITHOUT even reading it. ”

and what is it that i’m supposed to admit?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 11:10 pm

no salvo is a common term, probably got it in video games.

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 11:11 pm

I must admit, spence. I was expecting you to list your #1 hero as tuffy. But you did me one better. You managed to further impress tuffy while indirectly saying he was your hero. Kudos on that one.

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:13 pm

my telepathic powers must be overbearing, so what i’m i telling you to do right now spence?

Comment by jtuffy — May 6, 2007 @ 11:13 pm

seperate comments michael. basically great minds think alike.

Comment by Frodo Baggins — May 6, 2007 @ 11:13 pm

I was saying you can admit that you learned the word from the book. But okay, I believe you didn’t… But maybe it was in there and it reminded you of it!

Comment by Michael — May 6, 2007 @ 11:14 pm

Tuffy, it’s not hard. I could choose to do nothing but what I knew you would love too.

Well I guess this thing is dying down now. I’ll let tuffy go to bed with his mind at ease that I won’t be revealing anymore truth to his subject tonight. I’d be worried too if my kid was being told something against everything I taught him.

lol, jen is reading this with me and she just said, “if anything you are trying to be like spencer” LOL, i guess the situation is reversed. spencer is the best. spencer is the best. spencer is the best. I will do whatever he says. He is awsome. I wanna be just like him. i will admit it michael!

No offense, but that is a really weird perspective.

WOWZERS! You guys are killin me! There is just too much to comment on… I really missed out.

1. I did read the article you sent.
2. I think Jon tries harder to please people than Spencer.
3. I think that Spencer also tries to please others… It’s called being a good friend.
4. I find it odd that Michael thinks we should all respect his opinion by reading something that he found influencial but doesn’t have the common courtesy to return that respect.
5. It’s too bad about the book club… I was really excited. I had all these positive thoughts about how much we would all get out of it, but so much for the law of atraction.
6. Even if Jon learned the word “salvo” from slaughterhouse-5… who cares. Building your vocabulary and knowledge through reading wasn’t a bad thing last time I checked. Unless it’s fiction I guess… can’t learn anything from fiction.
7. Michael, of all people I figured you would have loved Kurt Vonnegut… He is like the Humanist poster child.
8. Yes, Kurt Vonnegut was in Dresden. SH-5 is not purely fiction… it is heavily based around and influenced by actual events.

So, I can’t think of anything else that I feel I need to address. Man, look at what I miss out on when I try to make some new friends. So, is the lesson… don’t make new friends, or make more new friends? lol… thanks for the laugh fella’s!

Serinity Now!
