Took me a hundred years to get this topic posted in a halfway reasonable format. I think it's ridiculous that you format it the way you want on the edit page, then you publish it only to have everything rearranged in ways with no rhyme or reason. With all the technology of today, and the high demand of software such as this, how can you not provide an edit page (specifically designed for this, and only this, purpose) that can actually look like the finished product instead of having to randomly change things around, then publish it just to see what happens, finally settling on anything that keeps all the words in one place. Mr. Quality Control is back... and he's angry.
Another quality control issue: Did you guys watch Fox News during the RNC? If you did, I hope you didn't think what they were doing was the norm. I am out of my mind trying to figure out what in the H-E-doubles they were thinking. While Super-Democratic-Bias MSNBC, and every other network, was actually showing the RNC (you know, the speeches that make it what it is...), Fox News was at the RNC but simply talking to guests the whole time, just like they do on their normal shows. This was Hannity and Colmes here. They did this the entire time that Romney, Huckabee, and Giuliani spoke!!! That's right, if you were watching Fox News, then you were missing the convention altogether. That is until Sarah Palin spoke. I guess that's the only thing worth watching. We couldn't miss Hannity and Colmes' normal routine for this nonsignificant convention. I'd understand it, as ridiculous as it would still be, if the democratic stations were doing this, BUT THEY WEREN'T! Instead, they were showing the whole thing followed by positive comments (for the most part). I could not believe Fox was doing that. Can anyone explain one reason for this? Before you answer that, keep in mind that I expect a "reason" that is "reason"able.
And then you can comment on Palin's speech. And, if you did what I did, and watched MSNBC instead of Fox, then you can comment on the other speeches too (since at least one was so good -- guess who).
LOL, i have no idea what you are talking about, i don't watch that non-sense. The political garbage machines of both parties is just a big red-carpet hollywood production. These people don't even write their own speeches. So to say that one is better than this or that is non-existent in my view. It is about the issues. These monkeys just need to get up there with a dry erase board (dems and republicans side by side) and go down the issues; abortion..check; immigration...check; health care....check; taxes....check; economcis....check....
and so on...
But the smoke and mirrors come out and they have to do an video intro and voice overs and blah blah blah....
I understand they have to do it because that is how the game is played, it is just a sad reflection on the lazy and idiotic state of the general public who buy into this stuff.
Boy, it wasn't a matter of a great speech because this person wrote every word himself. It was a matter of the things he said and how he said it. They were aggressive toward Obama, and it was hilarious. But, you should have tuned in to hear everyones' take on Palin, and then her own speech (whether she wrote it or not). Obama should be feeling a little inadequate after all of that. Giuliani was the keynote speaker that night. He was the good one. You should youtube it because he said some classic things.
Leigh Ann, you're very, very, very, very... very wrong. Turns out he has the best chance ever because of this pick. If you would have watched the convention, then you would know this. Pretty ironic.
Don't be ridiculous, Doms..it was a Republican Convention..what did you expect ? Now, McCain thought he could cash in on the Hillary factor for himself...no, America is not stupid enough to vote for you simply because you chose a woman as your running mate. He LOST the election with that choice. Hide and watch, Doms. You're ironic !
Now we have to remember that Leighann's comments are biased since she has been corrupted by the Obama machine. Probably Roger Federer mentioned Obama's name and that sold her.
LOL... I am a Republican, but I'm not going to vote for someone I don't like. I don't care for John McCain. His last move of trying to get the Hill factor to his side by choosing a woman running mate sealed the deal. Stupid move...he's definitely going to lose. I don't care for his name calling kindergarten tactics either.
Roger is from Switzerland..he doesn't care. Stop hating, Jon ! Just because you saw what a fine speciman of a man he is yesterday. Don't be jealous.
Leigh Ann, I felt the same way as you when I heard McCain's vp pick. HOWEVER, I went one step further... I gave him a chance to give any other reasons for choosing her than the one you mentioned, and you know what??? It was like Shock and Awe all over again. This girl was more than the perfect pick. Especially given Obama's vp pick, McCain is officially snatching that whole "new and exciting" factor right out of Obama's hands. This girl is as tough as Hillary, but likable too. She's winning people over. This is like a chess match and McCain just made a seemingly superficial move, but one that is proving to be extremely strategic and effective. In one fell swoop, he covered many angles than just the female factor. It's really pretty amazing. This will go down in history. Romney was the guy that was sparking the most excitement when mentioned as his vp pick, but this girl is in another world compared to Romney's potential for sparking significant excitement.
So that's it. You have no argument if, 1) you're voting for obama because you "like him," 2) you're not voting for mccain because you "don't like him," and 3) you aren't voting for mccain b/c you don't like his vp pick and, especially, if you haven't even gotten past the headline of the front page stating he chose a woman. Enough said. Go learn more about her before you blow your vote on Osama, I mean Obama.
If McCain had chosen Romney, I would've leaned more his way. He didn't choose him because he's a Mormon and was afraid of losing votes over that. He thought by choosing a woman, he'd get the Hills votes.
So, I'm not impressed with his strategy.
Good luck with the issues, Jon...politicians lie to get elected.
Sarah seems a bit sketchy to me, Doms...I won't vote for that ticket.
Okay Leigh Ann, let's consider your choices: Obama - 143 working days experience in the senate; has a history of voting "present" when any controversial topics arise; chose Biden as his running mate, a guy with more time in the senate than McCain and who criticized Obama for no experience, especially in foreign policy, and even labeled Obama as unfit to be commander in chief of the military that he has never served in any way whatsoever; mostly gets people to support him because of how he makes them feel; riding on the policy of "hope" and "change;" said, and I quote, that his plan as president is "to go through every bill and take out the ones that waste money, make the good ones better, and make the good ones cost less" (it doesn't get any better than that -- nor does it get any less detailed than that); barely been to Iraq at all; says he's going to tell the generals of our military to change the goal to winning the war instead of... well, I guess the current goal of losing the war.
Does that about wrap it up? I think with all my xbox experience in games of war, I have more experience to be commander in chief than Obama.
Oh, and I forgot one more strong point of Obama. Thanks to his lack of experience, he has the ability to see and therefore handle foreign relations in ways that the many years of presidents in the past could never see since they were blinded by all that experience. He is going to go to Iran, and Osama if we ever find him, and simply chat about this whole religious hatred problem that they have for us. If all goes smoothly over tea, Obama should be able to talk them into love and peace, because we all know that that's all they want too. They're really good people over there. All those rally's against Americans and killing Americans is all in good humor. Obama should show them that we all aren't the meanies they may think we are. We just want to get along. Obama may be our only real hope for world peace.
Amen brother Coday, a fine assesment of Obama. However i think McCain is a big wind-bag himself. I really wish Washington would change. They just need to fire everyone there and start over.
That's about the kind of response I'd expect from you, but how about the big coincidence that happened to me about a week ago??? What? You don't remember? That's funny because it happened to you too...
Yeah, if I recall, tuffy calls me up and gives me the big news... that he may be moving to Alaska. Pretty crazy huh. You don't just talk about Alaska every day, nor do you have the kind of conversation ol' tuffy and I had that day about him now getting the chance to hunt some real caribou. Yep, I said that very thing. Then do you know what happened??? Wasn't it the very next day? McCain announces his running mate, the great hunter of caribou, the woman from the large state of Alaska. How about that coincidence? Just one of those barrages of stimuli that I finally began to recognize? I don't think so Tim.

So what were the funny things said?
You'd have to watch it to completely understand. I highly recommend it.
I didn't watch at all...McCain lost the election on his VP choice so who cares.
Leigh Ann, you're very, very, very, very... very wrong. Turns out he has the best chance ever because of this pick. If you would have watched the convention, then you would know this. Pretty ironic.

So it sounds like you are like a majority of the people, voting based on opinions rather than voting on the issues.
If McCain had chosen Romney, I would've leaned more his way. He didn't choose him because he's a Mormon and was afraid of losing votes over that. He thought by choosing a woman, he'd get the Hills votes.

Are you having a stroke ? Ok, vote how you please, Doms...I plan to do the same.
I think Washington needs some new blood in there...I'm tired of politics as usual.
Maybe his "lack of experience" will be the catalyst of new and better ideas.
Don't believe everything you read..might want to lay off the internet circulations.
Amen brother Coday, a fine assesment of Obama. However i think McCain is a big wind-bag himself. I really wish Washington would change. They just need to fire everyone there and start over.
Exactly...new blood in Washington...hello, that would mean inexperienced, JC, Champion of the Wealthy !
