Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

Horrible waste of time and money. I haven't paid to see a movie in the theater in a long time. I finally do, and I choose the worst movie I could have. Just for starters (especially if you haven't seen the movie yet), how about the unbelievable similarities between the main female characters of the all-too-popular Spiderman and this gay movie The Dark Knight:

If I were casting this film, and Maggie Gyllenhaal walked in to try out, I'd say, "Hey, you're good, we like you and we'd like to cast you, but you are the closest replica to spiderman's girlfriend anyone could even imagine. And since actresses are a dime a dozen, we'd like to find a DIFFERENT girlfriend-star for our action hero. Thanks anyway, and good luck." Maybe I'd even suggest she stick around to try out for spiderman 4. No one would know the difference.

Apparently they didn't feel this way when they chose the cast for this film. Maybe they just thought if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

michael, have you heard of the movie "Bigger, Stronger, Faster". its a documentary about the prevalent use of steroids in america by pro athletes and the average joe. i've heard its really well done and provocative. i was hoping to get your take.

oh, i've also heard that the dark knight is one of the best movies of all time. i'm waiting till after the bar to see it so i can't make a definitive statement on that. but apparently the casting of the lead chick hasn't dissuaded any of the critics.

Wait... so you didn't like the movie doms? If that is the case, it proves once and for all that there is something seriously wrong with you. It is by far the best comic book adaptation of all time. As a sequal it ranks up there with The Godfather 2. And on it's own it's easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. Amazing performances all around, unbeliavable plot and direction... and great action to boot. What exactly are you looking for in a movie?

Seriously... you are the only person I know that hasn't loved it.

Oh, and the differance between Maggy Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst... Maggy can act. She was a replacement for Katie Holmes, and thank goodness they got her, because Katie is even worse than Kirsten. Anyway...

I am just baffled that you didn't enjoy the movie. I would have walked right back into the theater and payed to see it again if there were another showing that night.

I haven't seen the movie but I'd like to. I just got a book called Steroid Nation which is on the same topics. I'll probably start it tomorrow. All I do know, without seeing that movie or reading this book, is that the prevalence of steroid use among athletes (of all types) and the average joe is extreme and growing. It is rather remarkable. Did you know that if you visited a pharmacy in Egypt, you could buy whatever and however much you want? This is one of the MANY MANY ways people are getting a hold of it at their will. The thing is, though, you don't have to go to Egypt to get it. If you want it, you can get it. Just make the right friends in the gym or on your team, no problem. I'm not exaggerating.

And with this in mind, considering all the anti-steroid campaigns -- all the scare-factor tactics (roid-rage, suicide, heart attacks, cancer, etc; you name, they claim it) -- shouldn't we be seeing tons of killings, suicide and deaths if all these people are using them in mass quantities??? Well obviously one of these claims is inaccurate - either there aren't that many people using them, or they really aren't dangerous to your health. The fact is, they are not dangerous. Many people live on this stuff in mass quantities, from unknown sources, and certainly, most certainly, without ANY expert guidance on using them. This latter aspect is true because there is no expert guidance. At least not to the extent that is required to prescribe drugs. We just have all these guys telling you to do what they were told to do and how they have modified it theirselves. These drugs aren't tested in such high quantities by the pharmaceutical companies. You can't make a "dangerous" drug any more dangerous than that, yet no one is dying. Can you explain it other than assuming it is just a safe thing to do? BUT, if someone dies, and steroids are detected in their blood, then the drug is blamed, and the case is closed. Then an explosion of crap about the danger of steroids erupts again and strengthens this unfounded claim. It's really just ridiculous.

Okay, there you go. Now, I would like to hear your take on it scam.

Oh my gosh seth. The movie was horrendous! There were only a few select parts, and only for a moment, that I thought were good. Most were bad to horrible. I could literally start listing all the things you can't deny were so absolutely stupid, to say the least, but scam and puffy haven't seen it yet. But come on, no matter how good maggie is, it doesn't change the fact that her character has already been invented for spidey! It's not like I'm saying she looks like the girlfriend of Bill Gates on his documentary movie, I'm saying she is the SAME GIRLFRIEND AS THE OTHER COMIC BOOK SUPER HERO! I can't express how absolutely stupid that is! Admit it, seth, ADMIT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH man, this is a good convo. First and foremost on the movie. I haven't seen it yet, nor do i plan on seeing it anytime soon, i'll hit it up at the redbox when it gets out, i'm sure it'll be worth a dollar. I really liked the last batman movie and i'm sure i'll like this one, but they are too cheesy to be classified as great movies. If the ledger dude didn't die, i don't think we'd be hearing half as much about this movie. The post-mortum fame thing is kicking in.

About steriods.....then why don't you use them doms if you are such an advocate for them. Just because a drug is illegal doesn't mean that it is extremly harmful.

Alright tuffy, if you'll agree to do a "cycle" then I will too. The only consequences are massive muscles, shrunken berries, extreme sex drive, thickened bones, and loss of your own testosterone production until about a year from the end of your cycle. Oh, and you'll be sterile during that time and your man-fluid will be more watery. Of course you'll also lose your massive muscle gains as soon as you end your cycle. The good news is that you'll be able to gain them back (and your BBs will also recover) when you start producing your own testosterone again. Of course two cycles are better than one, and three better than two. And then there are the other drugs you should take to really top things off and/or prevent other developments (e.g., the irreversible -- aside from surgery -- gynecomastia). And don't worry, if you induce a pattern baldness and severe acne, that too will recover upon cessation of your cycle. So, are you in?

JTuffy said...

Absolutely, ......not, that sounds like a pile of poop. So that is why you don't want to do it. Your "berries" are small enough and you can't lose your dashing good looks with acne! The truth has come out! LOL.

I do need to stock up on some serious supplements though, i need some protein and creatin

DOMS 287 said...

When I referred to your berries shrinking, I meant YOUR berries! We all know you'd start out as berries and end as raisins. I'd start from plumbs and end as prunes. Either way, this effect is undesired. So you're right, MAYBE I wouldn't lose my hair or gain man-boobs but I'm sure I'd get something I wouldn't want. So it sure isn't worth it!

Now, if you're gonna do protein, do it right. You need two kinds. One is fast absorbing, the other is very slow. This means you want hydrolyzed whey and casein. Oh, and you want to kill the insulin for a two-fold effect: maximal muscle growth plus maximal fat reduction. You can't lose on very low carb! Make sure to take the right proteins at the right times to maximize everything!! I'd also recommend you add some BCAA powder to your supplement list. Don't get BCAA pills b/c you have to take about 24 at a time just to get enough. Then you're looking at about $10 per serving! Go powder to spend as little as cents per serving! Do it!

JTuffy said...

$10 per serving, that is outside of your mind. I'll definitely do the powder routine. Maybe i'll buy it online at your website,.... what was it.... protein factory???

I definitely have to get my groove back on, i don't lift as much as i should, i've been running more. Got to train for the 6 mile endurance run in September!

DOMS 287 said...

Don't misunderstand. I said the BCAAs are $10 per serving when using the pills. BCAAs are not the whey or casein I first mentioned. BCAAs are abundant and uniquely structured amino acids in the muscle and, especially leucine (one of the BCAAs), are potent stimulators of muscle protein synthesis. You should add 5-7 grams to your post-workout hydrolyzed whey protein shake that you get from, yes, proteinfactory.com.

Cameron said...

dude, i am totally in on the protein and stuff. i need to put on some muscles.

as far as the steroid movie goes, i haven't seen it yet, just read about it. but i guess the dude makes a lot of the same arguments that you make. and sort of shines a pleasant light on the whole matter. not necessarily "pro-steroids" but certainly not "anti".
