So peeps, what is new. I ran a 5 mile race Friday night, it wasn't a pretty sight, i didn't train hard enough for the hills, they beat me down. But i took 281st out of 681! LOL. Didn't make the gun show either, since i was gone all last weekend, i didn't think it would be fair to ditch the fam again. But i did pick up some more trusty .45s for the pee shooter. So what is new out there? Anyone going to be in Oklahoma for the 4th of July? Scam???

I'm here. All the time. You guys are coming out right? we should blow some stuff up.

i saw michael's mom at church and she was as surprised as the rest of us about Michael being able to reproduce. Shock and Awe, gentlemen. Shock and Awe.

Sweet! I made the cover!

What is the deal with all the doubt that my boys could swim! How do you think you guys got here!

And yep, just goes to show you tuffy, a treadmill is no substitute for the real thing. The treadmill pushes the ground for you. In real life, YOU must push the ground back to propel yourself forward. Much tougher.

I was thinking today of some classic tuffyisms. In 6th grade we had the catchy Arfy with her physical characteristics being, "From the Rocky Mountains to the plains." Poor Arfy. Do you think she's recovered? We should look her up on myspace. Then there was the hit song to Arfy's new band friend Shelly. It went a little something like this:

Shelly Belly,
with your big 'ol belly,
Shakes the ground like a bowl of jelly.
Her feet are really smelly.
You can find her at the corner deli.
And after she eats, she pukes on Nellie!
Nuuuuuh, nuuh nuuh nuh nuh, nun-nuh nuh-nuuuuun nu-nuh nuh nuh nuh, nu-nuh nuh nuuuuuuuuh...
Did I mention that her feet are smelly?
Nuuuuuh, nuuh nuuh nuh nuh, nun-nuh nuh-nuuuuun nu-nuh nuh nuh nuh, nu-nuh nuh nuuuuuuuuh...

I could sing that little ditty if you need me to. I was actually a co-lyricist, but tuffy was lead vocals and oral-guitar.

oh man that is a classic, i can still remember that song perfectly, let me correct a couple of lyrics.

Shelly Belly,
with your big 'ol belly,
Shakes the world like a bowl full of jelly.
She has feet that are really smelly.

At least that is how I remember it...... LOL

I really feel bad about arfy, i was thinking about that a couple months ago actually, how i could've just ruined years of her life, i'll have to try and make it up to her someday, I wonder what she is up to? Does anyone keep track of myspace? What happened to your pages seth.

And yes, i was shocked that michael's boys could swim, i thought they would just sink to the bottom since their muscles would weigh them down.

Man, I wrote a post and it had an error, so I lost the whole thing. I basically said Brooke and I will look her up on myspace tonight. She could use a visit from the ghost of her nightmares. And I think we'd better hurry because you just may be on her list, like on Billy Maddison!

And speaking of tuffyisms, I just ran across a classic alias (or at least a name given by friends) of tuffy... Jonnycakes! Turns out they're popular here in New England. That's one of those names that seemed natural for me to say, but never knew it was an actual word! It must have been stuffed down into my subconscious. After reading its definition I now know why Jonny Glucose is also so natural for me to say!

Cameron said...

dude, i remember when we made everything end in "cakes". spencer had a field day with that one.

"aly-cakes", "cammy-cakes", "kressy-cakes" the list went on and on.

that was down right hilarious

DOMS 287 said...

Oooooohhhh, is that how that got started? I don't know but somehow jonnycakes stuck with me. Too funny

JTuffy said...

It definitely started when i would always call Jenny, jennycakes and spence would laugh and call me johnnycakes..... then he started calling everything cakes. Now he is stuck on this "yo yo ma" saying. Very weird!

Hey, on espn i see that they have OU and BYU predicted to play in the Fiesta bowl! That would be a riot.

Cameron said...

would you be pulling for OU?

when byu played TU i admit, i was hoping TU would win. just because those byu fans can be so obnoxious sometimes. thinkin' they have god on their side and all...

yea, well, who should who, buddy? thats right.

JTuffy said...

I still can't believe you would pull for TU over BYU. You didn't have any ties to TU until you went there, and you grew up liking BYU. Because of my grandpa, i grew up liking OU way before i even knew about BYU, so i have some deep ties there. Scam, you have always like to go against the grain though. I bet if you were with your TU buddies you would be cheering for BYU! LOL

I don't think that i could rout for one or the other, it would be a win win. Probably deep down i would be cheering for OU though.

I remember doms and me listening to the boomer sooner record that he had on this ginourmous stereo system. Good times, remember that doms.

DOMS 287 said...

Oh yeah, great record! On one side you got the classic Boomer Sooner; flip it over and you've got:

"Sooners come to the line of scrimmage, the ball on the 35. Here's the snap, he swings outside he's at the 25, the 20, cuts back, gets about to the 15, the 10, the 5, TOUCH DOWN OKLAHOMA!!!! (fading into an echo) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMER SOONER!!" Then the hip sooner song kicks in. I used to rock out to that all the time!

JTuffy said...

And now you aren't even a football fan, you have just fallen to pieces over the years! : )

Cameron said...

the byu and ou fight songs are the only ones that i know. OU's because it's only two words for the whole song. (is that indicative of the creative level of people from oklahoma). and byu's because they make you learn it the first week you go to school there.

i would go for the underdog. whomever that is.

DOMS 287 said...

Since OU's fight song actually has more than two words, is that indicative of scam's brain power?

Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, O-K-U!

Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, O-K-U!

I'm a Sooner born
And a Sooner bred,
And when I die
I'll be Sooner dead.

Rah, Oklahoma! Rah, Oklahoma!
Rah, Oklahoma! O-K-U!

DOMS 287 said...

Although the origins of OU's fight song might be indicative of the creative level of people from Oklahoma...

Cameron said...

jeez, i'm sorry. i'm don't have the firm grasp on OU lore that i thought i did.

but let's analyze this: the first verse is essentially two words; the second verse is essentially one word and then some letters (why not OU instead of OKU. do they not even know the name of their own university?)

did this song win a grammy? its complexity is astounding. i don't know how the student body is able to remember it so well. OU truly is a center for higher learning.

Cameron said...

you guys should make a song about shelley belly based on the OU fight song.

DOMS 287 said...

Well, I think O-K-U is just how it is expressed in the song (syllables that is). It's intended to be OK U, dork. So when is that higher learning of yours going to kick in?

JTuffy said...

LOL, you guys are cracking me up, and what is TU's fight song? Of course you are both TU alumni, what is with a golden hurricane!!!! That is the craziest thing ever. We have a blood-sucker and a lifetime student debating education, this is good stuff

Cameron said...

the hurricane is captain cane. originally the mascot was supposed to be the golden tornadoes, but somebody already had that one, so they went with the hurricane because it was similar.

i have no idea what the fight song for TU is. it doesn't matter. it doesn't really inspire me to fight.

michael, man, you know i'm just teasin' you. no need to pull the "dork" card on me. that's way below the belt. way below.

tuffy, are you pulling for the phillies? they're hot right now.

DOMS 287 said...

A dork is a term of endearment. I wouldn't shoot low on a fellow golden hurricane! (although some recent steroid comments may have gone low on me...)

DOMS 287 said...

I have good news folks! First a little background: I started the graduate program in mid year (Dec). The initial plan was to finish my 2 year program in 1.5 yrs to graduate in May and then start the four year PhD program the following fall. However, I then decided to apply to med school, so then my 1.5 year program turned back into a 2 year program to be finished this Dec. Well... now it has turned into a 2.5 year program to graduate in May 09! It's in my best interest.

JTuffy said...

2.5 years, best interest? What is that all about?? Did you get in the new apartment? Very interesting about the golden tornadoes. How do you guys not know the fight song? Also, Scam I do like the Phillies (since i don't really care about baseball anyways) but they are probably the hottest team in baseball for losing right now, they are 1-9 in their last 10 games; however they are still in first place in their division.

i vow to not make any more steroid jokes. scout's honor.

although, by saying steroid jokes hit you below the belt, you're really just setting yourself up. but, i will leave it at that.

i will now be the defender of DOMS. that's my new title.
